Welcome to the rabbit hole
This is where I share what I’m learning, what I’m trying, and what I’m still questioning. Not medical advice — just one person’s honest, stubborn search for answers. Pull up a chair.
Not medical advice — just the journey, written down.
The honest, ongoing journal behind Twisted Roots Collective. Research I’ve discovered, treatments and therapies I’ve explored, the products and supplements I’ve tried, and the lifestyle changes that have — or haven’t — made a difference. Successes, disappointments, questions, and probably a few mistakes.

I’ve spent thousands of hours researching, questioning, learning, and going down rabbit holes that seem to lead to even more rabbit holes. After all of that, I’m still searching for answers — but I’ve learned there’s value in sharing the journey, even before you’ve reached the destination.
If something helped me, I’ll tell you. If something didn’t, I’ll tell you that too. Not because my experience will necessarily be yours — but because sometimes hearing someone else’s story helps you ask a better question, find a useful resource, or feel a little less alone.
This is where I share what I’m learning, what I’m trying, and what I’m still questioning. Not medical advice — just one person’s honest, stubborn search for answers. Pull up a chair.
Is it autoimmune? Hormones? Gut? Inflammation? Something triggered by COVID? Or all of them at once? A note on why chronic illness feels like one tangled ball of roots — and how I’m learning to stop yanking and start mapping.
Feeling terrible while the printout says you’re fine is its own kind of gaslighting. Here’s what I learned about the difference between ‘in-range’ and ‘optimal’ — and why the gap between them is where I’ve been living.
After the specialist shuffle, one visit changed everything — not because they had the answer, but because they asked a different question. On what it feels like to finally be heard, and the care that followed.
The drawer full of bottles. The ‘this one’s the one’ certainty. The honest tally of what helped, what did nothing, and what I’d never buy again — plus the one question I wish I’d asked first.
One search led to another, led to a forum, led to a paper, led to a product I’d never heard of. A short, slightly sheepish field report from the deep end of the research internet — and how I learned to pace it.
Not the dramatic overhauls — the small, unglamorous shifts that quietly made room for my nervous system to come down off the ceiling. And the ‘wellness routines’ that turned out to be another thing on the to-do list.
The kinds of notes I keep — the same ones that turned into this collective.
Studies, ranges, and frameworks I’ve pulled on — translated into plain language, with the rabbit holes noted.
What I’ve explored, who helped, and what it actually felt like — the successes, the disappointments, and the still-unclear.
The drawer full of bottles, honestly reviewed. What moved the needle, what did nothing, and what I’d skip.
Small, unglamorous shifts that made room for my nervous system — and the ‘routines’ that were just more work.
The deep, winding, sometimes-sheepish searches — and how I learned to pace the chase for answers.
The things I’m still figuring out. Because keeping asking questions is the whole point.
Bring your questions, your labs, and your story. We start by listening — then we go looking for the root, together.
